Experience the many legends that have grown up on the beautiful lands of Cornwall on this unique tour; from the patron Saint of St Ives ‘St La’ who travelled from Ireland on a giant leaf in answer to her prayers too the ‘The Hurlers’ a group of stones on Bodmin Moor, which are said to be the remains of a group of men who were turned into stone.
DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel to the hotel in Cornwall with a comfort stop en-route. On arrival enjoy welcome tea or coffee with the other passengers.
Day 2 – This morning we visit Trewidden Garden for free time; this 15-acre garden is home to a magnificent collection of over 300 Camellias and Magnolias and one of the largest tree fern dells in Europe. Follow the paths that lead you around these peaceful gardens and be sure to stop off for a Cornish Cream Tea in the tearoom. Afterwards we travel to St Ives, a beautiful seaside town set in breathtaking coastal scenery.
Day 3 – Newquay is Cornwall’s favourite holiday destination voted “one of the nation’s favourite seaside towns”, and today you can explore its golden beaches and busy harbour in your own time.
Day 4 – After breakfast we will be joined on the coach by a local guide for a full day guided tour, where we will see and learn about some Cornish locations of great myths and legends. Including Tintagel Castle, these fascinating ruins are steeped in history and has links to King Arthur, and Bodmin Moor, one of Cornwall’s designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a spooky mythological past.
Day 5 – For those on you who join us in September today we visit Mevagissey, an attractive old town with a tradition of boat building dating back to 1745 and Perranporth.
Day 6 – After an interesting break we take you home.
