DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Enjoy a relaxing journey to our hotel in Sidmouth, with comfort breaks en‐route.
Day 2 – This morning we travel to Exeter one of the most attractive and historically interesting cities in England. Pre‐dating the arrival of the Romans in AD 50, Exeter’s history is rich and long and this fascinating history is reflected in its attractions including; the unique Underground Passages, magnificent Cathedral, imposing Roman wall and the award‐winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum. Later, we head to Tiverton where we have arranged a cream tea at Bickleigh Mill – a Georgian Water Mill that is still operating today!
Day 3 – The lovely seaside town of Sidmouth is nestled beneath the majestic red cliffs and green hills of the glorious Sid Valley. Spend your day enjoying a leisurely walk through beautiful gardens, or pop into the friendly shops.
Day 4 – After breakfast sit back and relax as we enjoy a pretty drive through East Devon before arriving in Bournemouth. Here, an experienced and knowledgeable guide will join us on board our coach for a guided tour of the Isle of Purbeck and the surrounding areas of Bournemouth. More accurately a peninsula, the Isle of Purbeck resides in Dorset but feels worlds apart from the ‘mainland’. Bordered by beautiful countryside, historical monuments, castles and stunning coastal views much of this region is considered an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Before returning to the hotel, we enjoy some free time in the seaside town of West Bay.
Day 5 – This morning we visit Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Alan Titchmarsh once described these walled gardens as “one of the finest gardens I have ever visited.” Located near Chesil beach and surrounded by woodland, wander through the old kitchen garden before making your way to the valley garden, which has some of the most extensive gunnera plantings in England. After some free time we travel to Weymouth for the remainder of the day. With beautiful golden sands sprinkled with deckchairs and a pretty harbourside. For something a little bit different maybe visit the Sandworld Sculpture Park – showcasing enormous, breathtaking life‐sized works of art, created entirely by sand.
Day 6 – After a wonderful stay we return home.
