Join us again on our very popular Hebridean Island Hopper! Discover a truly unique way of life as we discover the rich history behind these beautiful inter-connected islands. See the 5,000 years old Callanish stones with your own eyes and marvel at the Iron Age structure of Carloway Broch which is said to be over 2000 years old. There’s also the opportunity for you to sit back and relax whilst admiring the spectacular view from the comfort of your own seat during the guided tour through Lewis and Harris. Other excursions include Isle of Skye, the Uists, Inverness & Spey Valley.
DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Following door-to-door pick-ups we travel to our overnight hotel with comfort stops en-route.
Day 2 – After breakfast we continue our journey enjoying a leisurely stop in Fort William. After some free time, we travel north past Eilean Donan Castle, the second most photographed castle in Scotland to the Isle of Skye where our next hotel is based.
Day 3 – Enjoy a magnificent drive across Skye as we catch our ferry across to North Uist. This afternoon we take you on a scenic coastal drive of the Uists passing lochs and golden beaches, before checking into our base for the next two nights.
Day 4 – We sail over to Lewis and Harris, the largest of the Hebridean Islands. This rugged landscape of deep-sea lochs and mountains retains a proud history dating back to prehistoric times.
Day 5 – Today we have arranged a full day guided tour of Lewis and Harris with an experienced island guide. Our guide and local coach will pick you up at the hotel and take us around the best bits of the Isle. During the day we will visit the impressive 5,000 year old standing stones of Callanish and the imposing Carloway Broch – a fortified tower dating back over 2,000 years. We have also included entrance into the Black houses, ancient thatched settlements where we enjoy a light lunch. We finish the day with a visit to a Tweed Mill where we learn the history of the famous Harris Tweed.
Day 6 – This morning, we catch the ferry across to Ullapool and travel to Inverness, the ‘capital of the Highlands’. After a couple of hours free time we enjoy a leisurely drive south through picturesque Spey Valley and reach our overnight hotel.
Day 7 – After an amazing trip filled with lots of incredible sights, we travel home today.
