DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – Sit back, relax and enjoy the leisurely journey across to the Isle of Wight.
Day 2 – This morning we travel to The Needles where you can admire The Needles Rocks and Trinity Lighthouse – the Isle of Wight’s most famous landmark. After a short photo opportunity we continue to Yarmouth. This historic port town sits at the mouth of the River Yar and is home to some of the oldest architecture on the Isle of Wight, including a 16th Century castle. This afternoon, we visit the National Trust’s Mottistone Gardens; set in a sheltered valley, this magical garden is full of surprises, with shrub-filled banks, hidden pathways and colourful herbaceous borders.
Day 3 – After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy free time in Sandown Town. Sitting on the southern coast of the Isle of Wight, Sandown is acclaimed for its long stretches of sandy beaches and a traditional British seafront and pier.
Day 4 – Our first stop today is at the seaside resort of Shanklin, where over 70% of the area has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. After a little free time, we travel to Godshill village, which boasts some of the oldest architecture on the Island. Here, you can enjoy its delightful Medieval church, charming thatched-roof cottages and it’s winding main-street lined with traditional tearooms. This afternoon we will enjoy free time in Ventnor, one of Britain’s most famous Victorian health resorts due to its unique microclimate.
Day 5 – After breakfast we travel to Osborne House, no visit to the island would be complete without a visit to this Royal seaside palace where Queen Victoria lived with her beloved Prince Albert and their nine children. Take an intimate glimpse into Queen Victoria’s family life as you tour the nursery and private rooms of Victoria and Albert. Marvel at the magnificence of the Royal Apartments including the drawing and dining rooms and step out onto Queen Victoria’s private beach (a pleasant 20-minute stroll from the Palace). This afternoon we travel to Cowes, where you can enjoy a stroll along the seafront and see boats of every shape and size before returning to the hotel.
Day 6 – This morning we visit Ryde, the largest town on the Isle of Wight for free time. Later, we travel to Newport where you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Located in the centre of the island, this historic town centres on two elegant squares with Georgian and Victorian architecture surrounding them.
Day 7 – After a wonderful getaway we begin our journey home.
