The National Memorial Arboretum is the UK’s year round Centre of Remembrance, honour and celebrate the men and women who have served (and who continue to served) our Nation in many different ways at this spiritually uplifting destination. We also enjoy admission into Blists Hill Victorian Town, and step back to when Queen Victoria ruled Britannia.
Day 1 – We travel to the National Memorial Arboretum. Situated on the edge of the National Forest, the National Memorial Arboretum features to over 300 thought‐provoking memorials and tributes to those who have served and continue to protect and serve our county. Enjoy the beautiful 150‐ acre site on the land train – with an on‐board commentary; this is a great way to discover the incredible stories and fascinating symbolism of the memorials. After a couple of hours, we’ll travel to the beautiful Buckatree Hall Hotel in Shropshire.
Day 2 – After breakfast we visit the Blists Hill Victorian Town. This open‐air museum allows visitors to step back to the age of Queen Victoria and experience an atmospheric way of life in the late 1800’s. This is re‐enacted by townsfolk who wear the attire and who go about their daily lives in the shops and workplaces of this authentic community. Many have been specially trained with specific skills and crafts and are ready to demonstrate exactly how tasks would have been done in a small industrial town.
Set in scenic woodland at the food of the Wrekin in tranquil Shropshire, Buckatree Hall hotel features traditionally furnished bedrooms and many rooms have views of the garden or private lake.
