DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – After pick‐up’s we travel to Chester, for a couple of hour’s free time. Chester’s medieval beauty and unique atmosphere make it one of Britain’s most popular cities. Home to the most complete city walls in England, the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, a Cathedral which dates back over 1000 years and the 700-year-old Rows Galleries, now home to boutique shops and cafés.
Day 2 – This morning we will be treated to a journey on the Llangollen Railway, the only standard gauge heritage railway in North Wales. The line takes us on a relaxing journey through the stunning Dee Valley and the picturesque River Dee. Afterwards, you are free to spend the rest of the day however you wish! Mold is an attractive market town with many fine old buildings situated along its High Street. Its most notable building however, is the 15th Century Church, which is renowned for its magnificent animal fresco.
Day 3 – Mold has been a market town since Medieval times, street markets have been held here every Wednesday since 1732 and this morning you can enjoy the community atmosphere with free time to explore the local market. This afternoon our experienced driver will take us on an impressive journey through the Snowdonia National Park to Barmouth – located on the west coast of Snowdonia. As well as being a traditional seaside resort, Barmouth also has a great heritage with links to Henry Tudor, the Titanic and even the founding of the National Trust – so while you’re here, why not pick up a Heritage Trail leaflet and find some of the most fascinating sites?
Day 4 – Today we travel to the Maritime city of Liverpool. Before stepping off the coach, we will be welcomed by a member of the Liverpool Tourism Board on-board who will provide us with a brief introduction of this famous city. Here, we have arranged a Liverpool Mersey Explorer Cruise. Once on board you can sit back, relax and admire the UNESCO World Heritage Listed waterfront before we begin to drift past some of Liverpool’s most important sights including; the Albert Dock, the 3 Graces and Liverpool’s two Cathedrals. Afterwards, enjoy free time in Liverpool.
Perhaps wander around the famous Albert Docks, home to a wealth of museums, shops and cafés.
Day 5 – After breakfast we travel to Shrewsbury for a little free time. Shrewsbury Castle is home to a spectacular collection of pictures, weapons, uniforms and other memorabilia from the 1700’s to the present day (entry not included). Afterwards, we return to the East Midlands.
