Bideford, in North Devon, is home to some of the most beautiful coast lines in the British Isles; experience sandy beaches and quaint unspoilt villages on this break, as we enjoy excursions to the unique, privately owned village of Clovelly, Bude, Barnstaple and RHS Garden Rosemoor.
DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel to our hotel, enjoying a couple of refreshment breaks along the way.
Day 2 – After breakfast we take you to the beautiful RHS Garden Rosemoor. Originally created by Lady Anne Berry, the Gardens span 65-acres and are set in the beautiful Torridge Valley, surrounded by romantic woodlands. Later today, we visit Barnstaple – the largest town in North Devon, for a little free time. Barnstaple remains a thriving market town and features many fine buildings and attractive narrow streets to explore.
Day 3 – Bideford is an attractive town located along the River Torridge, it’s home to an historic harbour, a riverside quay and independent shops and today you can explore in your own time. Cream tea will be served in the comfort of the hotel later today.
Day 4 – After a morning in picturesque Bude, famous for its pasted painted beach huts, we visit Clovelly. This unique village is one of the most famous in the world, once owned by the Queen of England, today it is still under private ownership which helps to preserve its original atmosphere. Clinging to a 400-foot cliff in North Devon, it has no vehicular traffic on its cobbled street, just donkeys and sledges which help you to get around. Our admission includes a programme of Clovelly and entry to the two museums; the Kingsley Museum and the Fisherman’s Cottage, and Clovelly Court Gardens.
Day 5 – After breakfast we begin our relaxing journey home.
