Visit the unique, privately owned village of Clovelly, and enjoy free time in Bude, Appledore, Barnstaple and Ilfracombe.

Day 1 – This morning we take you to Weston‐Super‐Mare to marvel at the incredible sand sculptures. Over the past 10 years the festival has continued to display some of the world’s most amazing, themed sand sculptures, including: ‘Fairy Tales’, ‘Under The Ocean’, ‘Hollywood’ and ‘The Jungle’ – and this year promises to be just as great! After some free time, we continue to the Durrant House Hotel in Bideford.

Day 2 – After a morning in picturesque Bude, famous for its pasted painted beach huts we visit nearby Clovelly. This unique village is one of the most famous in the world, once owned by the Queen of England today it is still under private ownership, which helps to preserve its original atmosphere. Clinging to a 400‐foot cliff in North Devon, it has no vehicular traffic on its cobbled street, just donkeys and sledges that help you to get around.

Day 3 – Our first destination today is Appledore, this small fishing village is home to the North Devon Maritime Museum. The museum is housed in a grade II listed Georgian building and details the rich shipbuilding and seafaring history that the area is famous for through exhibitions, displays, photographs and paintings. Later, we will visit Barnstaple the largest town in North Devon, for a little free time. Barnstaple remains a thriving market town and features many fine buildings and attractive narrow streets to explore. Early this afternoon, we’ll return to the hotel for the remainder of the day. Located on the River Torridge, Bideford is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxed afternoon.

Perhaps take a stroll to the historic harbour, riverside quay or, explore its wealth of shops. Afterwards, enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Day 4 – After a leisurely morning, this afternoon we visit the beautiful seaside resort of Ilfracombe. This picturesque harbour town is steeped in Maritime history and remains one of the key working fishing ports in North Devon.
