On this break we bring the BBC’s ‘Antiques Roadshow’ to you! If you have an eye for genuine antiques or just fancy having a go then this is the perfect break for you. Staying at the Legacy Mill Hotel, a popular amongst Laver passengers, we have arranged an antiques day with a £15 shopping voucher to spend, Afternoon Tea and an evaluation of your purchases in the comfort of the hotel as well as excursions to Ickworth, Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea.
Day 1 – Stopping for comfort stops along the way we travel to the hotel in Suffolk with time to freshen up before dinner.
Day 2 – Today we will take you into Long Melford where you will be given £15 to spend on an antique of your choice, choose wisely though because this afternoon we will take you back to the hotel where you will have your purchases valued by a professional.
Day 3 – After a leisurely morning we travel to nearby Ickworth, owned by the National Trust. Ickworth’s impressive Rotunda is a magnificent showcase commissioned by the 4th Earl of Bristol to house his priceless treasures collected on tour around Europe in the 18th century. After free time we take you back to the hotel for tonight’s evening meal.
Day 4 – First we visit Clacton-on-Sea, home to award-winning gardens for some free time. For a lunchtime treat we visit Colchester, which holds the status of the oldest recorded town in Britain. This afternoon we visit Tiptree Jam Shop & Tearoom here you can explore the museum and visit the Jam Shop for Tiptree products and gifts.
Day 5 – We travel home.
