Tucked away on the English Welsh border Shropshire has remained unspoilt and comparatively unchanged. So if you’re looking for a chance to get away from it all this spring and indulge a little then this break is the answer.
DURING YOUR STAY
Day 1 – We travel first to the National Trust’s Dudmaston Hall – this house of many contrasts has been a much-loved home for over 857 years. Explore the traditional rooms, most offering stunning views over the garden, scattered with family photos. After a little wander around we continue the journey to the hotel.
Day 2 – After breakfast we take you to Kidderminster, here we have arranged a journey on the iconic Severn Valley Railway to Bridgnorth. As you step onboard, you will be transported back in time to the romantic era of steam-hauled trains, as we travel through the stunning River Severn and countryside.
Day 3 – Enjoy free time in Ludlow; this market town has a well-deserved reputation for quality food and drink and you’ll find a selection of small, family-owned business that sell quality products with a personal touch that you can enjoy today.
Day 4 – This morning we visit Blists Hill Victorian Town. Here you will be transported back to the age of steam, a time when Britain ruled the world, at this recreated Victorian Town. Enjoy life as it was over 100 years ago and meet the real-life Victorian’s in their authentic shops and cottages, visit the men at work in the workshops and buy some novelty goods from a bygone era. Afterwards, we then travel to Shrewsbury for the afternoon. As the birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury is one of England’s finest medieval market towns, and the shopping centre is packed with timber-framed black and while buildings, steep narrow streets and alleyways.
Day 5 – After breakfast we take you to Stourport-on-Severn for free time in this delightful town before we return home.
